Folksy Hanging – “Just what the doc ordered”
“Folksy Hanging – loved it! Really relaxing – just what the doc ordered”. So says a happy maker of tonight’s Rubbish Revamped workshop. Shredding pieces of material, knotting them round a hoop and filling a little heart pouch with lavender whilst nibbling on homemade hobnobs seems to have gone down well. Do admire the results.
Have a happy * Rubbish Revamped * birthday!

“Absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much! So much fun and very therapeutic. Buttons next…”. “A fab evening. Will definitely see you again to learn more! Thank you.” “What a fun evening. It was nice to get crafty with good company and good craft teachers!”. Thanks – look forward to seeing some of you again then…!
Blissed Out with Buttons and Cupcakes
Diving into button boxes for crafting never ceases to excite and enthral people and tonight’s group was no exception. People came with a delicious range of buttons which were used to make little wire heart hangings and, after a cupcake break, button bracelets. Very stylish looking they were too.The (mainly!) finished Sock Monkeys
11 February was part II of sock monkey making and resulted in mainly finished creatures, just the odd arm and ear to be attached (admire the slightly alien look of one of the triplets awaiting ear surgery…).
Here’s what some of the sock monkey makers said about the workshop:
“Another fantastic workshop. Made a wonderful sock monkey and met some lovely people. Will be back for more workshops in the future!”
“Fantastic experience, lovely company, made to feel really welcome. Even though I couldn’t sew I actually made (with alot of patient help) a good looking long-armed sock monkey”
“Sock monkeys was great – reignited my creative passion. I’m now addicted and will have made a whole colony soon”.Want to make a sock monkey? Sock monkeys: “Under Construction”
Part one of two sessions making sock monkeys took off promisingly this Thursday.
Here they are so far… How will they look next week and will the stripey grey trio look like identical triplets or distant relations? Watch this space!

A Rubbish Revamped favourite: transforming an old pair of socks into a long-armed, long tailed monkey. Cut, sewn and stuffed, you’ll be entranced and amused by how your socks become a funky monkey. More info on Sock Monkey workshop.
Sock monsters with a mind of their own
The amazing thing about Rubbish Revamped sock monsters is how they all start off from the same basic shape but each turns out completely differently. Often they evolve as they’re being made. A certain sock monster was going to be an evil-looking devilish creature until it somehow morphed into a cute cow! Check out the gallery for more sock creatures of distinction…
